Alternative payment option for dropped Kickstarter backers

Hi there! If you’re reading this, you’ve likely been directed to this page because you backed Summer of Sonic 2016, but Kickstarter wasn’t able to complete your payment.

There are a few possible reasons this has happened – the most likely is that your bank wasn’t sure if KS’ payment request was a legitimate one, and blocked it.

So, if you’d still like to back the project, we’re offering an alternative payment method using Paypal. Once your payment is made, you’ll receive a confirmation from us and will retain all of your Kickstarter rewards.

Please note that, if your Kickstarter payment failed, and you do not make a payment through Paypal, you will not receive any of the rewards from your Kickstarter tier, including invitations and t-shirts. The deadline for payments is 23:59 (UK time, GMT+1) on Sunday 5th June.

Now that I’ve scared everyone off, here’s how to send a payment through Paypal!

Firstly, click this link to open up the Paypal payment page.

On the left hand side of the page, there’s a text box where you should enter the value of your pledge, in pounds (£). Please enter the same amount you pledged on Kickstarter – as a guide:

  • Invitations are £20 each (apart from tiers with four tickets, which are £70 total).
  • T-shirts are £15 each.
  • The 25th Anniversary coin is £30.
  • If your pledge includes t-shirts but not invitations, delivery (only charged once per pledge) is £5 to the UK, £10 to the rest of the world.
  • If you would like to change your pledge (for example, to include fewer invitations), please contact us at support@summerofsonic.com first to confirm. You cannot add more invitations, but can add more shirts.

On the right hand side of the page, you can select your payment method. If your Paypal email address is different to your Kickstarter email address, please use the “Note to seller” link in that section to include your KS email so we know who you are!

Once again, thank you for your support for Summer of Sonic! If you need any further information, feel free to contact us at support@summerofsonic.com.
